We had some errands to run on Friday and figured that we would be gone for a few hours so we packed up the cooler with items that we could both eat (it’s all about a lifestyle change) so we could be prepared if we did not make it home in time to eat.
As we were out we saw horses and cows along some back roads that my husband felt like driving down. It was so nice to get out and go for a long drive. It gives me time to think and just enjoy the simple things in life.
We found a field full of geese and that’s so odd for this time of the year.
I felt like a tourist in my own town..lol. We are trying to get out more and take more pictures and just enjoy this simple things around us.
Saturday was spent watching our grandson and we tried to get a good picture of them together but it just did not happen.lol. I think this was the best picture out of the bunch.
Today was spent cleaning and painting and leave it up to me to get paint all over my hair..UGH!
On out way back from grocery shopping we noticed these guys working on the gas pipes and they have a fire extinguisher next to them. I hope nobody was in that house.I would not want to be anywhere near them while they were working.
Did you take time to enjoy the small things around you this weekend?
YES YES YES
and every weekend.
xoxo
In my “old age” I see how important the small things in life are.
Being prepared for trips is so crucial! great job and sounds like and eventful weekend!
It was a great weekend. I’m working hard to make sure my cooler is packed even on days I don’t leave the house.
I did but in brief spurts between work. But I do that daily…work a few hours, then garden for 15-20 mithen back to work, etc…sounds like you had fun for sure!
I’m learning to really make myself stop and enjoy the world around me. Life is short and I don’t want to miss out of all the world has to offer me.
I spent most of the weekend resting up from sickness, but I did manage to get out Saturday night and enjoy some time with two special friends.
I love it. I hope you had a great time. My doctor told me I need to make sure I make time for friends and get out of the house more. It’s good for the soul.
Yes, in fact this post is similar to my Friday/weekend post:) and prepping for family outings is key
And it makes me feel wonderful that I’m doing something so great and healthy for us. I want us to live a long healthy life together.
Family, fresh air, relaxation… The best things in life are definitely free
I could not agree more. I’m taking advantage of every moment.
We need to. But when we finally do we always say we need to do it more often. Loved the pics and AWEsome on prepping for fuel.
I’m working on enjoying the small things in life a habit…a very long lasting habit.
I love that you guys went prepared! Wonderful idea.
Thanks! Greg even took his cooler to Home Depot today. I love that he is doing that. Good habits!
