Early Christmas

When Friday got here I felt like my days off were kind of dragging on and felt guilty for not being at work and now that it’s Sunday I’m wondering where the time has gone. Thursday and Friday were reserved for relaxing and doing absolutely nothing.

I did get the new issue of Oxygen magazine and to be honest with you I don’t really like it. The first issue that came out last month since it was sold was ok and I knew there would be some changes coming to the magazine but this month it has a “cheap magazine” feel to it. What I mean by that is that it reminded me of those free magazines that you can pick up and the Vitamin Shoppe. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with those magazines but they are free and you get what you pay for. I pay for Oxygen magazine but with this last issue I felt like I was being robbed. There was no real good information in there and it is losing that “Oxygen” feel. I already have a subscription so I will let it run its course but if the magazine keeps up the way that it’s going it will lose me as a reader. I’m not impressed. The articles remind me of something I can read in Prevention and the editors even made mention that they will be highlighting other sports and to be honest what I loved about Oxygen was how it catered more to competitors so I guess I will be moving my subscription back to Muscle and Fitness Hers.

Please let me know what you think of the changes at Oxygen. Am I alone or do you get the same feeling about that magazine as I am.

In other news, my neighbor Kory came over yesterday after spending time at the Kennedy Krieger Festival of Trees. I’ve never actually been but I’ve heard it’s a really nice event they put together and it’s for the school to raise funds for operation. Kory goes to this school and I know it’s helped him a lot and for the most part they are in school year round. As they get older they get more responsibilities and the kids make picnic tables to be sold for profit and they basically teach the kids how to live as a productive part of society.

As you can see below they had face painting. Greg and I checked to see when they were going to be open but today was the last day so we could not make it. Oh well, maybe next year.

We got two packages yesterday from FedEx and both were my Christmas gifts and Greg decided to give me these two items now. I already knew he was getting me the makeup container for my closet so this was not a huge surprise but I do love this one. It holds a lot more than my first one and it better quality also.

He also got me a light set for my pictures and video from cowboy studio. The lights were super easy to put together and I played around with the set up yesterday to see how the lighting would look in different positions. This is all a learning process for me but I’m willing to learn and very excited to show off what I learn to y’all.

Don’t the lights make me look important? lol

So, that was our Saturday. We did make a short grocery trip yesterday to pick up some salsa and avocado. You can check out how Greg looks for ripe avocado in the video below.

  1. I totally agree with you about Oxygen. I have a subscription as well. Let’s see how the next issue goes.
